Let’s face it: Nothing beats the sound of an unmuffled race Hemi. Turn up your speakers and close your eyes.
I might make this my new ringtone.
That is all.

Very nice! Controlled explosions FTW.

It definitely sounds extremely...powerful? I don’t think I’d say it sounds good anymore...
I think V8s sound best when properly muffled, like a nice exhaust on an LS.

I can hear the pixels, try again.

Steve, I need your opinions on this story I posted. Or use it for a future article.

The wing car siblings look awesome in race trim. As restored original cars they look a bit goofy.

They’re an acquired taste. I like the Daytonas a bit more than the Superbirds.

Was scrolling down fast and thought I saw “Early morning semi”. Thought for a fraction of a second someone posted about their morning wood. The truth was much better. Thanks.

Sound is a form of energy. Wasted energy. Just ask Ulrich Baretzky.
![]() 11/01/2015 at 10:35 |

Which is why race cars are always so quiet?
![]() 11/01/2015 at 10:41 |

More like mind=blown lol

That's outstanding

The initial start up sounds the best.

Any car that doesn’t just have wheelie bars, but needs them, has my respect.

It’s like an alarm clock!

And this is your Hemi on Nitro.
![]() 11/01/2015 at 11:43 |

Obligatory.
The sound of that 7 liter Hemi echoing off the high banks from almost a mile away makes my spine tingle every time.

That gave me a boner.

More like early morning semi, amirite?

If it’s something people can enjoy it, it’s not wasted!

I like the little wiggle from the torque

Dumb question of the Day: Why is the idle so high?
![]() 11/01/2015 at 15:19 |
|
You’ll notice that he is holding the idle there. When it first kicks, it idles slower and then he gasses it and holds it. I assume he was doing that to warm it up. It was a chilly morning in Atlanta.

I’m just quoting Audi Sport’s head engine guy.

The previous statement has been rendered invalid. Also love the startup, reminds me of primus.

I’ll let the Hemi speak for itself.

was that a hemicuda at 0:22?
![]() 11/02/2015 at 06:27 |

A Cuda and a Torino went by around that point. A Superbird goes by at :08.

Cue the Folgers jingle:
The best part of waking up...is a Hemi in your cup!
Or something like that.

My reaction.
![]() 11/02/2015 at 11:38 |

Yes, he tried to let it idle on it’s own but would have probably stalled. Sounded like a big cam in there, nothing better than the sound of a big cam at idle in a pushrod V8.

I love winged cars... Someday I’ll own one... Someday.

Just saw this on Sunday when we were wandering around SEMA before it opened. Petty’s personal car. Was really cool to see.

I wonder which one that is. I rode in this one a couple weeks ago.
